01What this covers
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to anyone who accesses velvetstormseo.com, uses our services, or makes use of deliverables we created. It supplements our Terms of Service and forms part of the agreement between us.
If you violate this AUP, we may suspend, throttle, or terminate your access without notice, in addition to any other remedy available to us.
02Prohibited uses
Network & security abuse
- Scanning, probing, or testing the security of any system without our prior written permission (separate from good-faith vulnerability disclosure — see our Trust & Security page).
- Sending denial-of-service traffic, flooding, or amplification attacks.
- Distributing malware, ransomware, worms, viruses, or any code intended to disrupt or gain unauthorized access.
- Attempting to bypass authentication, rate limits, IP blocks, or other technical safeguards.
Content & conduct
- Posting or transmitting content that is unlawful, defamatory, fraudulent, obscene, harassing, threatening, hateful, or that incites violence.
- Sexually explicit content involving minors, in any form. This is a zero-tolerance rule reported immediately to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
- Infringing the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others.
- Impersonating any person or entity, or misrepresenting your affiliation.
Spam & deceptive practices
- Sending unsolicited commercial email in violation of the CAN-SPAM Act (15 U.S.C. §7701 et seq.) or your local equivalent.
- Using our contact form for marketing, recruiting, link-building outreach, or any unsolicited proposal.
- Phishing, pretexting, or any social-engineering scheme against our staff, vendors, or clients.
Automated access
- Scraping, crawling, or harvesting content from the Site at a rate or in a manner that degrades service for others or ignores our robots.txt directives.
- Using automated scripts to submit the contact form or any other interactive element.
- Bypassing our rate limits, CAPTCHA, or other controls designed to manage automated traffic.
AI training & competing services
- Using any content from velvetstormseo.com or deliverables we produced as training data for a machine-learning model without our prior written permission. This includes use of third-party crawlers (GPTBot, Google-Extended, ClaudeBot/anthropic-ai, ChatGPT-User, CCBot, PerplexityBot, Bytespider, etc.) which we explicitly disallow via robots.txt and TDM Reservation Protocol headers.
- Using our site, deliverables, or documentation to build or promote a directly competing studio service, without prior written consent.
Legal & export
- Violating any applicable local, state, federal, or international law or regulation in connection with your use of our Site or services.
- Using our Services in any country, or for any party, prohibited by US export-control or sanctions law (OFAC, EAR).
03Reporting abuse
If you see something on our Site or in something we built that you believe violates this AUP, email abuse@velvetstormseo.com with as much detail as you can provide (URL, screenshots, timestamps, evidence of harm). We aim to respond within two business days.
For DMCA copyright complaints specifically, follow the procedure in Section 13 of our Terms of Service.
04Enforcement
We investigate every credible report. Depending on severity and history, our response may include:
- Requesting that you remove or correct the content.
- Temporarily throttling or blocking your access.
- Permanently terminating your access.
- Reporting to law enforcement where conduct appears to violate criminal law.
For severe violations — child sexual exploitation material, credible threats of imminent harm, active attacks against our infrastructure — we may act without notice and report immediately to the appropriate authorities.
We try to act proportionately. If you think we got an enforcement decision wrong, email hello@velvetstormseo.com with the subject line “AUP appeal” and a brief explanation. A different reviewer will handle the review.
05Changes to this policy
We may revise this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the “last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the Site or Services after a material change constitutes acceptance.
